Mr. Andrew Dowley

Having obtained his Medical degree in 1995 at Sheffield, England, Andrew went through basic then higher surgical training in Nottingham and qualified as an ENT specialist in 2007. Following this he did a further year Fellowship in Rhinology in Plymouth, then a Consultant post in Cheltenham and Gloucester. He moved to Hawke's Bay with his family in 2009 and has worked at Hastings Hospital and Royston Hospital since.
His area of interest and clinical expertise is Rhinology and Facial Plastics. This includes complex Septorhinoplasty, Endoscopic Sinus Surgery, Otoplasty and the treatment of facial Skin Cancer including major reconstructive surgery. He was Head of the ENT Department from 2014 to 2019 and has previously been Chair of the local skin cancer interest group. He is a member of the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastics, the Australian and New Zealand Rhinological Society and the New Zealand Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeons. He regularly presents at meetings and conferences and has published a number of articles.
Ebba Burton
RN, PGDipHSc, Cert. Dermatoscopy SCSNZA
Ebba trained as a Registered Nurse at The University of Auckland. Ebba has been nursing for 10 years. Ebba has worked at Hawkes Bay Hospital for the last five years, but has spent the last eight years specialising in ENT, oncology and skin cancer. During this time Ebba has worked closely with Mr Andrew Dowley and other specialists helping with skin clinics at the hospital.
Ebba has now worked with Andrew Dowley at the Skin Clinic Hawkes Bay in Ahuriri for the last year, assisting with facial skin and skin surgeries and, she has developed her skills and knowledge in this field. Ebba has attended many melanoma and skin cancer conferences, and has completed a Certificate of Fundamental Dermatoscopy through the Skin Cancer Symposiums New Zealand and Australia.
At Skin Clinic Hawke's Bay, Ebba assists with surgery, performs the post op wound care with follow up and manages the surgical side of the clinic. She is also available for doing full body skin checks and spot checks and can refer patients on to the appropriate specialists if surgery or treatment is required.
